We All Have the Same 24 Hours as Beyoncé... So What Now?

How I’m Rethinking Time, Visibility, and the Hustle Narrative

If you've ever looked at your day and thought where did the time go?, you're not alone. One minute you're sitting down to write that email or plan that content—and the next thing you know, you’re three scrolls deep into Instagram, a toddler is asking for snacks (again), and your brain is buffering.

And then here comes that familiar whisper:
I just need more time.

Case & Point

This newsletter was supposed to be about visibility.
Owning the mic. Showing up loud and proud.
And I had plans—like, beautifully scheduled ClickUp plans.

But then…

The AC gave out.
Java (our fur baby) needed extra care.
The recording setup wasn’t recording.
And I found myself editing in the heat, late at night, eating ice cream (to keep cool… of course 😅).

I almost scrapped the whole week.

But that’s when it hit me: this was the message.
Because visibility without strategy?
It leads to burnout.

And here’s the wild part—my own strategy is what saved me.

Because I had a plan, the pivot didn’t require me to start from scratch.
It gave me the permission to pause, reassess, and shift.
And when everything felt like it was falling apart—when I was asking, “What am I actually doing with my 24 hours?
The answer came as easily as the question:
You’re walking it out, Shani. You’re living the lesson.

That’s why this week’s podcast episode—a perfectly timed Episode 24 all about Commanding Your 24—feels like more than just content. It’s a confirmation. (I know… God be flexin’ like that sometimes).

In my conversation with Dr. Nikeya Young, we didn’t just talk about productivity—we talked about power. The kind of power that comes from clarity, mindset, and unapologetic boundaries.

Here’s the truth bomb: You have the same 24 hours as Beyoncé.👇🏾

And yes, I already hear you—“But she has a whole team!”
Sis, I get it. That’s why strategy is the secret weapon for the woman who doesn’t have a team… yet.

Strategy means moving with intention, not just filling your calendar because someone on LinkedIn said to “rise and grind.” No shade.

That’s why I was so grateful for this week’s podcast episode. Dr. Nikeya Young reminded me—and now you—that managing your time is more than productivity. It’s stewardship. It’s clarity. It’s spiritual.

Here are three key shifts that will move you from surviving your schedule to commanding your day like a visionary:

Let’s break down the three biggest takeaways that can help you go from frazzled to focused—even if your fan is loud, your ice cream is melting, and your to-do list is laughing at you.

1. 🛑 Stop Trying to Do It All at Once

Dr. Nikeya said it best—just because you can doesn’t mean you should. That superhero energy we carry? It’s admirable, but it’s also a trap. High-achieving women often fall into the cycle of hustle without harmony. We’re praised for being “strong,” but we’re rarely encouraged to pause and ask: Is this strength, or is this survival mode?

Give yourself permission to be strategic. That may mean postponing a project, saying no to a good idea that’s not aligned, or sitting still long enough to hear what God is actually asking you to do today.

2. 🗓️ Assign Your Time Like a Boss

Every hour you don’t give a job… goes rogue. One of my favorite takeaways from this episode? You don’t need more time—you need more clarity. Start scheduling your day like the CEO you are. Assign your time to income-generating work, restoration, connection, and growth. If it’s not scheduled, it’s just a wish.

This doesn’t mean filling every block—it means being intentional with every block. An unassigned hour isn’t rest. It’s an invitation for anxiety, distractions, and “how did I end up organizing my sock drawer at 11am?”

3. 🌱 Audit Your Circle & Your Systems

Here’s a loving truth: If you’re the most visionary person in your circle, it's time to expand the room. Whether it’s your inner circle or your business systems—you rise faster when you’re not rising alone.

And no, you don’t need a team of 12 to make real progress. You just need the right systems (like ClickUp or Kajabi—I’ve got affiliate links below if you’re curious), and the courage to build a rhythm you can sustain. That’s how empires are built quietly… before they’re applauded publicly.

This week’s episode with Dr. Nikeya is a masterclass in balancing faith, ambition, and reality—while still getting things done. Listen in for more insight on how to stop letting time manage you… and start commanding your 24.

“We all have the same 24 hours. The difference isn’t the time—it’s the strategy.”

Here’s what most people get wrong about time management:
They think it’s about squeezing more into the day.
But what if it’s actually about doing less—but doing it on purpose?

You don’t need to keep up—you need to get clear.

Time doesn’t respond to guilt, pressure, or hustle culture.
Time responds to clarity, boundaries, and alignment.

So the next time you feel behind, ask:
Am I running my day… or is my day running me?

You can’t steward what you won’t command.
