Sick of the Algorithm? Do This Instead.
The quiet shift that builds trust, not just traffic—and why it’s time to make it.

When I first started my podcast journey, I didn’t press record—I spiraled.
I spent months obsessing over the perfect setup:
What mic should I use?
Do I need an interface?
What even is an interface?
Let me YouTube that. Is my background clean enough?
Should I get podcast chairs so I look “official”?
Wait—I need a better camera. A better mic. A better plan.
Better lighting. Better strategy. A better me.
It wasn’t just logistics. It was fear wearing a strategic disguise.
I told myself I was preparing. Perfecting. But the truth? I was hesitating. Because once I pressed record, there was no more hiding.

And that, I’ve learned, is what visibility hesitation really is.
It’s not that we don’t know what to say. It’s not that we don’t believe we’re good at what we do. It’s that visibility requires exposure—and exposure feels dangerous when you’ve spent years trying to be safe.
So instead, we research.
We rearrange our offices.
We buy planners.
We change our launch dates.
We tell ourselves, “I’m getting ready.”
But preparation is not the same as progress.
And perfectionism is not the same as strategy.
I’ve had conversations with incredibly brilliant women—experts, leaders, visionaries—who have been “almost ready” to launch a podcast for two years.
They want it.
They know it would help their business.
They’re even convinced they’d be good at it.
But every time they’re about to step forward, visibility hesitation whispers:
What if no one listens? What if I look silly? What if it doesn’t land the way I meant it to?
And so they stay behind the scenes—posting here and there on social media, trying to stay relevant while staying hidden. Building visibility in theory, but not in practice.
I know the feeling.
Because it took me six months to record my first episode.
And then one day, I made a decision.
Not because the backdrop was perfect.
Not because I finally “figured it all out.”
But because I got tired of letting fear write the script.
One of my Shani-isms is this:
“Not everything is a process. Sometimes it's a decision—and everything after that is your opportunity to stand ten toes down on what you said you wanted.”
I said I wanted to amplify visionary voices.
That had to include my own.
So I hit record.
And here’s what I know now:
The fear of being seen doesn’t go away—you just get stronger than it.
You start realizing that your voice, when used with intention, becomes a magnet for the people who need you most.
You start realizing that visibility isn’t about getting everyone to listen—it’s about showing up for someone who needs what you carry.
You don’t need a million downloads to make an impact.
You need alignment. Clarity. Consistency.
You need to trust your own voice enough to use it.
Bréne Brown didn’t need me to make her millions.
She spoke with intention to the right people—people facing a problem she was uniquely positioned to help solve.
I wasn’t one of them at the time. But eventually, her ripple reached me.
Because that’s what trusted voices do—they resonate, even without the algorithm.
So today, I invite you to ask yourself:
What are you waiting on?
And what would change if you gave yourself permission to move forward before everything felt perfect?
If you’re struggling to launch, promote, or speak up—it’s not a strategy issue.
It’s a visibility hesitation issue.
And I see you.
I’ve been you.
But now? I speak anyway.
And I can help you do the same.
If visibility hesitation has kept you from launching your podcast—or using it as the powerful brand tool it’s meant to be—then it’s time to stop sitting on your brilliance. You don’t need more noise, you need an aligned strategy.

No fluff. No overwhelm. Just bold clarity, clean systems, and content that actually converts.

If this week’s message hit a little too close to home (in the best way)—you’re tired of second-guessing and shrinking behind content pressure.
Here’s how to start moving from performance to powerful positioning:
✍🏽 Write down the one thing your clients always trust you for.
(That’s your lane—own it.)🧐 Audit your last 3 posts, reels, or podcasts.
Are they pointing people toward that one thing?🎙️ Record one voice note or video this week speaking directly to that topic.
Don’t overthink it. Just share what you know to be true.
✨ Bonus points if you publish it. But even if you don’t—you’ve already started shifting from performance to positioning.

You don’t need to post every single day—but you do need to show up with intention.
Not for the algorithm.
Not to go viral.
But because your people are looking for clarity, not clutter.
Content should connect—not just accumulate.
When your message is clear, it’s easier to be consistent.
And when you're consistent, trust compounds.
This week’s challenge:
Write down the #1 thing your ideal client always comes to you for.
Now ask: Am I speaking to that clearly and consistently?

"Content creators chase clicks. Trusted voices create legacy."
